"FUND-A-NEED" AT HARVEST ON THE COAST

SLO Wine Country Association is accepting applications for their 2018 Archie McLaren "Fund a Need" program.  SLO Wine Country has supported various San Luis Obispo County non-profit and charity organizations including Cal Poly SLO Wine and Viticulture, CASA, Family Care Network, Assistance League of SLO, SLO Hospice, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Food Bank Coalition along with several others over the past 8 years.  SLO Wine Country has helped raise awareness and gift funds to local organizations with programs focused on health and human services, education, the arts and community programs that service those in need.

SLO Wine Country is honoring past wine enthusiast and philanthropist Archie McLaren, who's work with the Central Coast Wine Classic donated over $2.5 million dollars to more than 130 non-profits throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties over the past 13 years.  SLO Wine Country is proud to honor the work and life-long dedication os Archie McLaren this year by renaming our Harvest on the Coast "Fund A Need" program in his name.

The application period will remain open until June 25, 2018.

Applications should be completed/received/submitted by 5pm on June 25. If your organization is in need of funding, we ask that you complete the 2018 grant application (see below). All grant proposals should highlight the community impact of their non-profit and any specific programs they are interested in pursuing for funding. An invitation to formally apply does not guarantee that the proposal will be approved and funded.

SLO Wine Country will select an organization(s) for the Archie McLaren "Fund A Need" program.  100% of  funds raised through the“fund-a-need” live auction lot at the 2018 Harvest on the Coast Celebration will be donated to the non-profit organization chosen.  The event is held at the Avila Beach Golf Resort on November 5th, 2018.

During the Live Auction, we ask that a member from the non-profit /charity organization be available to attend the auction and talk about their organization and role in the community during the presentation of the “fund a need” auction lot. We also ask for the support of  several volunteers from the selected non-profit to help volunteer at the event. The non-profit organization chosen will also receive complimentary vendor placement/table at the event and a VIP table of 8 to the grand tasting and auction.

All applications will be reviewed in July and the selected non-profit to be announced in August 2018.  APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY JUNE 25th, 2018 BY 5PM.
