Archie McLaren Fund a Need

SLO Wine Country has helped raise awareness and gift funds to local organizations with programs focused on health and human services, education, the arts and community programs that service those in need, with an emphasis on south SLO county and coastal north county regional non-profits. This year at SLO Wine Country's Harvest on the Coast Grand Tasting & Wine Auction, we will be honoring past wine enthusiast and philanthropist Archie McLaren, who's work with the Central Coast Wine Classic donated over $2.5 million dollars to more than 130 non-profits throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties over the past 13 years.  SLO Wine Country is proud to honor the work and life-long dedication of Archie McLaren this year by renaming our Harvest on the Coast "Fund-A-Need" program in his name.

This year, the Archie McLaren "Fund-A- Need" recipient is RISE. RISE is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (formerly SARP Center and North County Women’s Shelter) whose mission is to transform the lives of sexual and intimate partner violence survivors, their families, and the community through services and education that promote safety, healing, and empowerment. RISE provides comprehensive programs, services, and resources to the community of San Luis Obispo County: 24-hour support line, case management, restraining order assistance, accompaniment and advocacy, two emergency shelters, individual and group counseling, and prevention education.

100% of  funds raised through the“Fund-A-Need” live auction lot at the 2018 Harvest on the Coast Celebration will be donated to the non-profit organization chosen.  The event is held at the Avila Beach Golf Resort on November 3rd, 2018.
